At First Generation Residential Living, we are committed to supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to live safely, confidently, and independently in their own homes. Our Participant Assistance & Care (PAC) services offer flexible, hands-on support that promotes everyday living, community access, and overall well-being.
🌟 What is Participant Assistance & Care (PAC)?
PAC is a direct, person-centered service designed to support daily functioning through prompting, reminders, monitoring, and physical assistance. It is intended to help individuals:
Remain safely in their homes
Maintain daily routines
Participate meaningfully in their communities
Avoid unnecessary institutional care
PAC is available only through the Family Support (FS) Waiver and is tailored to the needs outlined in the person’s Person-Centered Individualized Support Plan (PCISP).
🧩 What Does PAC Include?
PAC is highly versatile and individualized. Services may include:
🛁 Personal Care Assistance
Bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and hygiene.🍽️ Meal Preparation and Feeding Support
Help with preparing meals and monitoring dietary routines.🛒 Shopping and Errands
Assistance with grocery shopping, picking up prescriptions, or running daily errands.📝 Appointments and Scheduling
Help scheduling, escorting to, and attending medical or personal appointments.🧹 Household Chores
Light cleaning, laundry, organizing, and other home maintenance tasks.💌 Correspondence and Bill Management
Assistance understanding mail, paying bills, and managing documents.🦽 Mobility and Transfers
Help with safe movement in the home or community, including the use of wheelchairs or other assistive devices.🎯 Behavioral and Risk Plan Reinforcement
Ensuring adherence to behavioral support plans (BSP), safety protocols, and risk plans.👁️ Supervision and Monitoring
Direct oversight and safety checks throughout the day.
🧍 Who Can Provide PAC Services?
PAC services can be delivered by:
Trained Direct Support Professionals (DSPs)
Primary caregivers or legal guardians (if the individual is 18 years of age or older)
This flexibility allows families to remain engaged in care while receiving compensation and oversight to ensure quality and compliance.
🏠 Where Services Are Provided
PAC services are non-facility-based and offered primarily in:
The individual’s own home
Family homes
In the community during scheduled outings or appointments
